Faster input method for variable value changes
Reported by Christopher Stawarz | July 11th, 2016 @ 02:15 PM | in 0.7.0
In an experiment with a large number of variables, changing a variable value via MWClient's variables window can involve a lot of scrolling and searching. It'd be nice if there were a faster method for quickly changing the value of a variable.
Some ideas:
-
Include a "command line" at the top or bottom of the window, which lets you input variable-assignment expressions like
image_size = 3
-
Include a search field that filters the displayed variables by name. Once you narrow it down to one variable, hitting return initiates editing of that variable.

Implemented the search field option. However, instead of return initiating editing, hitting tab jumps to the first matching variable and selects its value for editing (and hitting shift-tab jumps to the last).
